  • Proof?

I was just going through all the messages on the board and realized that almost every single Christian (I choose to seperate the terms mormons and Christians) have given logical arguments concerning the bible. All of the mormons seem to hide behind their mantra that they repeat over and over again in order to help them (or assure themselves) that they hold the truth. I want to see even one mormon give a reliable fact that can prove the validity of Mormon doctrine.

  • Mormon "truth" from racism to salvation

    Mormon 210,

    I asked you the following:
“Am I correct in interpreting what you have said is that salvation is bestowed upon man by other men?”
You answered: "Your half correct. My explanation clearly said “bestow” and “authority”. Two words we use regularly. Particularly authority. As Christ went to be baptized (since he was perfect why was he baptized, additionally, why didn’t he just grab the local believer instead of seeking out John). Hebrews talks about authority, the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants specifically define the authority.

I agree, Mormon. It's too difficult to follow in here. Your last post for some reason is even cutting off the last few words of each line. Would you mind reposting "Answers Part ll" on VOY? We can continue from there. Thanks

I was just wondering when the laminites come over from the middle east?

Do you have any religious celebrations in the Mormon faith? (for example: Christmas, Easter, Saint Days)
If so, What are they, and when are they celebrated?
    If not, Why?

Also, is fasting practiced by faithful Mormons?
What can you tell me about these things?

I have heard that you believe that Jesus was elected in a heavenly council by God to be the savior of Earth, and that Lucifer was his brother before he became the devil. And it was for that reason that Lucifer became jelous and rebelled againt God and was banished to the Earth. Is this true? If not, what are your beliefs?

I have been researching the Mormon faith for a few months and have been reading the Book of Mormon every day. In searching, I have come across doctrines that seem to conflict. For example, the idea of the Father Son and Holy Spirit as three separate entities. As far as I have read, the Book of Mormon states specifically that they are one. I may have incorrect information, but if not, how do I sort through the information from the BOM, D&C, and Pearl? Is one more influential than another? Which one states the current doctrine? Please help.

  • Celestial Law

I'll ask again since I haven't had anyone respond yet. According to D&C 88:22, a person who "is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory." Are you abiding a celestial law?

Okay, there is this missionary in my ward, which talks to my friend who is a new member all the time. This missionary tells her that he really likes me a lot but he is trying so hard not to think of me till he gets home from his mission, because he wants to concentrate on his work for Heavenly Father. I never did think of him in any other way then a missionary, but now my feelings are starting to change. I have prayed about this many times, and am not to sure what the Lord wants me to do. Would it be wrong if I talked to him when he got off his mission.

  • Who is God?

I've heard it said that Mormons believe that "as man is, God once was. As God is, man may become." Would you say that there was a God before Elohim (God the Father)?

Catholics do not just repeat the same prayer over and over again when they pray the Rosary. The Rosary is a progression of many prayers--the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Gloria, the Hail Mary and the Salve Regina--and these prayers are accompanied by many holy meditations. As the Rosary progresses, Catholics meditate on the joyful, the sorrowful, and the glorious mysteries of the life of Christ and His Mother.

  • Re: Should a Mormon teenager leave his parents home

My question is: Should a Mormon teen, who is being severly punished at home (like being locked in the garage to sleep - all night - for calling one of his friends, on the phone), leave his home and go to live with another family? How is this viewed by his church? How is a controlling parent viewed? Should the mother stand up against her husband, for her child? Is a non-Mormon family wrong - in the eyes of the Mormon church - for taking this teenager in to live with them? I am interested in answers to all questions. Thank you.
