When Catholics pray to Mary and the other saints in Heaven they are not bypassing Christ, whom they acknowledge as the sole Mediator between God and man. They are going to Christ through Mary and the other saints. They are asking Mary and other saints to intercede for them before the throne of Christ in Heaven. ``For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much.'' (James 5:16). How much more availing is the unceasing prayer of the sinless Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ! St. Paul asked his fellow Christians to intercede for him: ``Brethren, pray for us.'' (2 Thess. 3:1). Which book is more holy, the Holy Bible or the Book of Mormon? If you (Mormon) say that they are equally holy, why then did Joseph Smith say that "the BOM can bring a man closer to God than any other book", and why then if the BOM is "compatable" with the Holy Bible does the BOM read in 2 Nephi 29:10 that God's word is not only in one book?

Wasn't the race of Cain completely killed in the flood, seeing as Noah and family were descendents of Seth, not Cain?
The Racist discussion between some of you really doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Any other group of people couldn't be responsible for Cain's sin, no matter what Brigham Young may have said, because his seed died out a long time ago.

    Hello,
I have been researching the Mormon religion and I have a few questions. Why are Mormons skeptical to believe the Bible in full yet believe that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on Earth? I was just curious because I have read many things stating that Mormons only believe the Bible if it is translated correctly. How can you tell if the Bible is translated correctly? Thank you so much and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Years. Read more

  • Mormons: Why are we so afraid of gay marriage?

I want to know what you all think about Proposition 8?  This is a very touchy subject because it deals with the overturning of a Constitutional Amendment.  Do we, as Mormons have a right to tell non-Mormons how to live their lives?  Who are we protecting?  If we teach our own children our own beliefs, our own values, why should we be so threatened by what those gay heathens in Hollywood do?  Are our values so weak that with any little change we will crumble as an instit Read more

Just wondering if anyone else has been to http://www.notamormon.com? I have been going there on and off for awhile, but mostly just to learn more about my faith. Even though the name makes it sound like it is only for anti's, I think there are more mormons there than non-mormons!

Well, either see you here or there!

Just answer me this, how can you people follow a man who was a convicted grave robber and a convicted fortune teller and horse thief? It is proven that alot of the BoM was plagerized from the old KJV of the Bible. There is not a shred of evidence to support any of the claims made in the BoM. How can you turn a blind eye to Jesus of Abraham and the Bible? In my experience from home visits, etc., The only time Mormons use the Bible is to further the BoM. I just want to get an idea of how you can justify this?

Thanks and I would appreciate some constructive input. Read more

he mike, what's up? first of all, for the most part, most of us don't know as "pure knowlege" that we are going to heaven. we do believe that if we follow his
teachings that we will go to heaven. if God required us
to be perfect, only christ would be allowed because he
is the only sinless or "perfect" man that has ever lived on the earth, but he still urges us to become perfect because it is a continual process. in the bible he does require "good works", without good works, faith has no purpose (james 1:5). Read more
