  • Re: Truth in All Churches

If all churches have "some truth" in them, why does 1 Nephi 14:10 say, "Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil."?

  • Is the Catholic church true?

No, the Catholic Church isn't true. I'm tired of reading the hate messages directed towards the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So, I'm going to pick apart the religions of those who say that The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints isn't the true church.
Let's take a look at some of the Catholic's beliefs. You Catholics think our church is hard to believe. You haven't seen anything yet. Peter was what you Catholics call the founder of the Catholic Church. Show me where the word Catholic Church is found in the Bible?

Man YOU are the one twisting things. You claim absurtidies like "1st Corinthians even criticizes baptism for the dead". If you read that scripture CORRECTLY you would know he was giving a hypothetical question. He was asking "why are people baptized for the dead if the dead don't even rise?" But of COURSE he is a follower of God therefore he BELIEVED in the resurrection! He was saying that the dead ARE baptized and they DO rise from the dead. And your mention of people coming from the graves?

Is there a Bible that the mormons believe to be true? Without a doubt. Or do you believe that the entire Bible is mistranslated?

I must wonder, because you use verses from the Bible but than claim it is wrong. But the verses that you use for your docterine is right. This really confuses me, either the word of God is true, all true, or it is false and not worth the paper it is written on. Please what Bible do you belive in?

Hi! I am a student and I am currently taking a class where I have to observe, and learn about a religion. My question is, do you think that the Church of Latter Day Saints would welcome me, or should I just go to another church. I have already attended service on Sunday with a friend who is a Mormon, she says it is okay but I would like to know another Mormon's opinion. I would appreciate any responses you would be willing to give me.

  • Failed Prophesies

This message is a bit long, but it could be a lot longer...

Joseph Smith is considered a prophet Mormons, but are you sure he was a true prophet?

Test of a prophet: "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously..." Deut 18:21-22

Can even a "true" prophet have false revelations?

I have posted the offer to debate logically and received several philosophically passionate responses about the falseness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Nothing logical. It is quite a challenge to get a valid argument from "anti-mormon" responders.

Hello All - this discussion you are having is quite interesting. I am a born-again believer and would like to add my two-cents on the Prayer and Worship issue.

I believe Prayer is communicating with God directly. It is a worshipful act because it requires faith that God is listening and interested in you. I like what Phillipians 4:6&7 says, here we are asked to let our requests be made known to God.

  • LDS Godhead?

Hello. This is Matt. I know that the LDS church does not agree with the doctrine of the Trinity, and multiple LDS adherents on this site have said that this doctrine is incorrect. However, I have not yet seen the LDS view of the Godhead presented in full. Will someone please address this topic? I would very much like to see it presented. Basically, if the Trinity is not correct, show me what is correct and why.
    I would appreciate it,
    Matt

  • I want to join but am confused

Okay, so I've been going to a LDS church and have been seeing missionaries at my home. I am thinking about joining but am confused. I've been reading some information and it's said that Mormonism is a cult and that no one should join. Now, I know that that was obviously subjective but I get that vibe. I do get the vibe that they are preoccupied with getting people to join.

Can someone please, objectively, tell me if this is true or not. I respect the religion and their views on family and marriage, but it's scary to change your religion.

There is only One God, and to believe that our Lord God was "born" is enough to make you go to hell. Our God has been here forever, If he was born, why isnt his dad or his dads dad or his dads dad dad the king? What did he go Super Saijain like in DRAGONBALL Z? (Cartoon Show.) Well I love God and i know he is the ONLY one, and that JESUS was NEVER the son of Lucifer.
    That is my Testiomony.

The entire religion of Mormon is based on the "angel" that came to show Joseph Smith these "gold tablets" that has the book of mormon on it. But was that a real angel from God? Even the Bible says that Satan "poses as an angel of light" All through the Bible the angels that come dont stay long and give a specific message. I have never read of one giving an entire Bible to someone. Think about it what if the Mormons are decieved? The entire Bible was not written at one time by one person, but written over several thousand years and by diffrent people.
