On easter sunday a three year old boy that is dieing because he has a brain tumor bore his testomony. It was amazing my mom said it was just like a testomony from an angel. It has really had me thinking and I have been having a hard time lately with things. My good friend told me I just really need to pray. I have a hard time praying though because I think it is weird to talk to what seems yourself though I know im not. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

I know, it can be awkward at first to pray out loud, so if it helps, maybe praying nonvocally or write a letter to Heavenly Father (God). Also, maybe before you pray, search the scriptures about what your concerns are and you’ll realize more fully how real Heavenly Father is and then may fell more natural, even compelled to pray sincerely.

I would suggest taking real time to ponder your blessings while on your knees. Let your mind dwell on the things you are thankful for until your heart is filled with gratitude.
I can’t think of a better way to prepare to receive the Spirit in your prayers. You may also read a verse and ponder its meaning. Search within yourself to understand what the Lord is trying to tell you in the verse.
Enos relates his “wrestle” with the Lord. God has precious pearls to give us and He is eager to do so, if we will just let Him know we really desire. Is it any wonder then, that it is often required that we put forth real effort to obtain it?
Brigham Young once said that if we don’t feel like praying, then we should pray till we do. He was a prophet, so it is no wonder it took him one sentence so say what it took me four paragraphs to try to say…and I cant say it any better.

Even Joseph Smith had to take that leap of faith and put his trust in the lord byt praying to him. IT wassnt until Joseph Smith put his trust in the lord that Hevenly Father and Jesus Christ appered to him. You may never visually see Christ or God the Father but the spirit will testify of their exsistence and the truth of other things if you will get down on your knees and pray vocally to him. Moroni 10:4-5 “ye may know the truth of all things (read the entire verse its real good).
