You guys are rediculous. you would believe what this john smith charecter or joseph smith whatever his name is, over the Lord Our Savior Jesus Christ. that is insane. and you guys call yourself christian. give me a break.

I gotta agree with you there. Believing Joseph Smith over Jesus Christ and claiming to be Christian would be insane.
Problem is there is very little that Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ don't agree on. I imagine it would be almost trivial for me to cite 10 things that they DO agree on for every thing you could come up with that they DON'T. And those few things are so fuzzy it's usually the interpretation that's in question. Who really knows how Jesus Christ really felt? Anyone who says they know how Christ felt on things is usually using the Bible as their basis. But as we have seen here in other threads, a case can be made for the way Joseph Smith believed Christ felt. Usually there are other scriptures from the same Bible that support his position. So how do you know? Arsenios says one thing, idahospud says another, C28 says another, I say another...
You see, Mormons believe it's possible to believe both Joseph Smith AND Jesus Christ. And for the most part that's true. It's not like they're on different sides of the war.

No its not like they are on both sides of the war. But it is like going to war with more than one leader who dont agree on everything, even if it is minor. how is that supposed to look to his troops. How can both generals have 100 percent trust of their troops if they dont even agree on the smallest things. For me i would follow Jesus he is a proven leader, not this joseph smithwho claims his ideas are right, and who doesnt agree with our Lord.

Wow, you make a really good point. NOT! The true church of Christ should be one and united. Catholics in the US believe that La Virgen de Gaudalupe is someone special. In South America they believe in the Divine Child. You guys are mixed up. Why do you wear crosses? If I killed your Mother with a knife would you wear a knife around your neck? Hello, Christ is alive! He resurrected and Romans 8 tells us that death has no more power over Christ. You have commercialized the cross. Thanks to Catholics people think the cross is a piece of Jewelry. Way to go! Did you say we're ridiculous? I work in law enforcement in LA and I'll tell you what, the catholic church is the only church where I have gone to break up drunken fights and some of which involved so called good catholics and preachers. Catholictruth, I'd like to discuss the condition of our insanity with you. Do you think us more insane than a faith who takes freedom of religion from men? Are we more insane than you to believe JSmith's vision over Constantines? Constantine did indeed claim to have had a vision and if you can tell me in what way his was sane and JSmith's insane I'd like to hear it. Do you believe us more insane because we send out our "babes" meek and mild and harmless as doves to knock on doors in order to find those willing to accept the LIVING Christ rather than send out armies/popes to kill any who will not believe and join us as your "true" Christian faith did? Do you know what an "iron maiden" is? Do you know which faith used it to keep her children in check? Do you think we are more insane because when we find one of our own we believe is guilty of herasy we show him the door and tell him kindly that he is free to go and think what he wants rather than burn him at the stake and take all of his worldly possessions for the "church" as yours did? Do you think we are insane because we believe in a living God instead of a dead one who no longer speaks? Do you think we are insane because we believe that sins are forgiven by God freely rather than having to pay money to a priest in order to be forgiven? Or maybe you think it insane of us to reject the practice of pre-repenting of a sin...like I'll go pay my priest now for the sin I plan on committing tomorrow as your "true" christian faith did? Do you think we are insane because we believe in gaining knowledge where ever it may be found rather than burning books and keeping the masses ignorant in order to better control them?? Are we insane for preaching from scripture and having no fear that men pick them up for themselves to read rather than keep them hidden from the masses? Are we more insane for our polygamy than your priests are for their pediphilia?
