Re: answer to mike
he mike, what's up? first of all, for the most part, most of us don't know as "pure knowlege" that we are going to heaven. we do believe that if we follow his
teachings that we will go to heaven. if God required us
to be perfect, only christ would be allowed because he
is the only sinless or "perfect" man that has ever lived on the earth, but he still urges us to become perfect because it is a continual process. in the bible he does require "good works", without good works, faith has no purpose (james 1:5). if our works did not matter, then he would not ask us to be perfect
matthew 5:48 you take care!

There are some marvelous
There are some marvelous passages in 1 John, written to Christians who trust in grace alone through faith alone for eternal life.
In v. 13, John says, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have eternal life."
Also, in verse 20, John says "And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, in order that we might know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life."
These verses are very comforting to me.

i believe what is being said
i believe what is being said in james 1:5 is that you have to act like your a christian in order to witness to others. if you dont, and act like other people, then your faith is "dead". and yes, there are ways of knowing if your going to heaven or not.
When you are apart from
When you are apart from Christ, you appear to God to be unclean. In Christ, when you die, God does not see the old, dirty 'you', but he sees His own Son, Jesus living insode of you. As long as you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and was resurrected then you are saved. The evidence of this faith are your works and without faith it is impossible to please God. None of us, on that fateful day, wants to hear, "Away with you, you wicked servant! -- I never knew you.". All it takes is FAITH IN CHRIST. <3
Mike, Growing up Catholic and
Mike, Growing up Catholic and striving to be good and never feeling good about myself or that I would be worthy to go to heaven. It was so wonderful when I knew in my heart after reading God's Word that Jesus paid the ultimate price for our salvation and that it is a free gift of God, by faith, not of our works lest any man should boast. (See Ephesians 2;8-9 ACTUALLY READ THE WHOLE BOOK-ITS WONDERFUL) Salvation is a free gift of God - and He gives us the faith to believe!
What we do afterwards shows our gratefulness forwhat He has done. We will be rewarded in heaven for what good we did on earth. Some will not and will just get in. We do not have to work for our salvation. But we should want to do what pleases God and it pleases Him that we lead holy lives and separate ourselves from sin. We live in the sight of people and we need our light to so shine before men that they may be drawn to Jesus because of our example - not of the good life we are living but the love we have for our fellow man.
Good News - Jesus paid the price. We have to accept it.
If you have never given your life to the Lord, just tell him thank you for dying on the cross for your sins and that you ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. You give Him your life. <>
I know that. Whatever made
I know that. Whatever made you think I didnt? I am a bible believing (and only bible believing) Christian (not cathlioc or mormon).
i am not a mormon. i know i
i am not a mormon. i know i am going to heaven because God said that anyone who believes in his son will receive eternal life (John 3:16). God cannot lie, i do believe in Jesus, God's son, so therefor, i am going to heaven. my salvation is secure because of God's holiness not my worthiness. Peace.
